The Barn Cats.

I should probably give you a bit of back story here, I work on a yard, with horses and hens and subsequently we have animal feed which encourages rats. The barn cats were brought in to deter the rats (they very rarely catch any but the cat smell seems to keep the rats away from the animal feeds, so it works very well)

Enter the beginnings of our barn cats.

First we had Ninja and Bubbles, the boys both came from an animal shelter and were neutered.

After that we got Ziva she came from the same shelter and was going to have to go because she was too feral and no one wanted her.

Then Willow appeared (she was a stray and not neutered) Then Bonnie and Clyde appeared (we decided later that they were probably Willow’s grown up kittens)

Then Jet came and went for a while (he is a tom cat) he did his own thing.

After that Willow had some more kittens and some more and Bonnie had some kittens too.

Unfortunately it was very difficult to get the timings right between kittens being re homed and managing to get the girls neutered so they had more pregnancies and litters than we had hoped for. But eventually all the kittens were homed and Jet, Willow and Bonnie were all neutered.

A little while later Heidi (one of Bonnie’s kittens) came back to us.

That is just an introduction to our Barn cats, in time they will each have their own story and there will be many cute cat pics of all of them on here.

Cat quote of the day.

Hippolyte Taine: ‘I have studied many philosophers and many cats. The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior.’
