What things give you energy?

My parents, family, friends

Positive people, special people

Nature, being outside, plants,

Cats, horses, dogs,

Wildlife, glimpses of owls, foxes, badgers, red kites or deer, as I work.

Alone time, the countryside, the seaside

Music, driving fast cars

Flowers, gardening, hobbies

Chocolate, coffee, cake, good company.

And many other things.

Life without music???

What would your life be like without music?

I am sitting here listening  to Paul Simon’s Diamonds on the soles of her shoes, as I write…

It would be quiet, very quiet and missing a lot.

fun, enjoyment, relaxation, dancing, conversation, and much more needs music.

Even if you don’t particularly like music it is used in so many subtle ways that we don’t always recognise, there would be a void without it.

Life without music, no, just no.

One with enough time to do all the things I want to do and can never justify the time for.

or a week of holiday with loved ones.

or a week on my own at one with nature, far from people, noise and responsibilities.

or a week spent in my garden in spring planting, pruning and just chilling out.

or a week in the winter locked safely indoors with a roaring fire, chocolates and the cats to cuddle obviously.

Or maybe a week of horse camp at the beach, riding on the moors, on beach and in the sea with like minded people. (this one is on my bucket list)

or a week of extreme sports, skiing, snowboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing maybe.

And that’s just a few…

but definitely not a week working.

Cats in boxes

Why do cats like to hide in boxes? 

Sadie loves a box, in fact she is a cat who will sit in any small space given half a chance, 

the microwave, 

the washing machine, 

shopping bags

anywhere small dark and confined. 

Why do cats like to hide in boxes?

Apparently this goes back to their feral past, because cats feel safe in small spaces, they can sleep peacefully there and are less likely to be attacked when in a small space than when out in the open. Being a predator they can also watch out for their prey from their hiding place with less chance of being seen.

Now there’s another good question daily writing prompt,

feelings are fleeting things, so hard to wordify (I like that, I just made it up)

they can be huge and all encompassing

or tiny and almost non existent

they can spark huge emotion

or nothing

they can change your day, sometimes your life, from one second to the next

they are always there, but not always noticed or acknowledged

sometimes they are invisible, only you truly know them

other times all the world can see how you are feeling

sharing feelings is difficult for some people

understanding other people’s feelings is impossible for some

but feelings are there nevertheless

they don’t go away because you can’t see them

Well now you’re asking daily writing prompt, actually I need a bit of help with this one, so where better to ask than here.

The last thing I searched for online was whether blogs need privacy policies and disclaimers, because I accidentally stumbled across a post saying that all blogs should have these, when I was looking for something else.

(really not sure how I managed that)

But now I seem to have fallen down that whole policies wormhole and I’m floundering, so if any of you lovely bloggers out there have any advice about this I would be eternally grateful.

The first holiday ever with all my grown up children together, their partners and both my grandchildren.

I joined them at the last minute as a surprise and it was lovely to be all together for a few days.

Black and white cats.

Black and white cats or tuxedo cats? it’s all a matter of location, come and meet Sadie a British black and white cat and hear some of her stories.

I have only recently discovered that Sadie is indeed a tuxedo cat

(being British I have always called black and white cats, black and white cats) clearly we as a nation are not as inventive as our American friends, who it would appear call their black and white cats tuxedo cats because that is how they look.

(such a lovely visualization to imagine those little furry people wearing tux’s)

Did you know? I didn’t.

I wondered where this term had originated, so I did a little research and found that it is in fact credited to The Cat Fanciers Association (of America) who are a non profit organisation that started in 1906 concerned with the welfare of all cats and also about protecting the registry of cat breeds, helping in making the world of breeding and showing pure bred cats a better place (for the cats)

The CFA is also now the worlds largest registry of pedigreed cats.
